Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial cupping

What is myofascial cupping and how does it work?

A plastic cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the area is reduced by using a manual hand pump, extracting the air. Based on ancient Eastern therapy, the decompression in the cups acts like a vacuum to draw the soft tissues and blood to the surface of the skin.

We love using myofascial cupping in treatments!

How can it help?

When combining cupping with deep tissue massage and other advanced techniques it can:

  • Relieve knots & adhesions
  • Ease muscle tightness
  • Increase joint mobility
  • Improve blood flow
  • Encourage tissue repair
Cupping treatments

We use myofascial cupping, also known as dry cupping, as part of our treatments where we feel this would be beneficial to our client. Our feedback from using this technique is positive and we welcome you to come along and try it out to see if it can help you.

It is particularly effective on shoulders and backs, although we do use it in many different areas of the body as well.
